In early 2012, a younger couple started our exercise for a residency. They had fallen in love with the charming location of a small network on the outskirts of Santiago. High on a steep hill, with no avenue to access, with the entire utility community below, the plot posed a pretty impressive challenge. Magnificent clear prospects of the Chicureo Valley, but it did more than really well worth the effort. The clients were not in a hurry to build the residence, so for a while the mission was interrupted to prepare the money for the construction. In the meantime, we have been tasked with identifying how to build an avenue on the hill without customer pressure or bankruptcy.

The growth of enforcement forced us to reject all previous schemes we had manipulated (freed from power!) and start anew. The time lost, but it has allowed us to understand the top two tons, so through the means of completion of the design section, the last mission has been adapted for them in a way that in any other case would not be possible.

Reasonably, the view has become the raison d’être of the residence. A room without a view, what so ever its purpose, has become unacceptable. In addition, due to the fact that they have been residing in a rental for some time, they have been very strongly of the opinion that the whole must be fit in an unmarried plant.

A collection of rooms in the form of a chain has become the logical format of the residence, in which all the regions of a non-unusual place take place in the middle of the chain with the couple’s main suite in one stop and the rooms of children and visitors in the different ones. This offers the mother and father a positive stage of independence as soon as the children are older. Next to the kitchen, a covered terrace has been introduced so that the husband can choose to grill, what so ever the season or the weather.

Customers wanted a sense of seaside residence for their servant. An exciting request in terms of design. As we have observed, the main distinction between domestic holidays and daily holidays is the loss of definition within the limits of the application. To cope with this idea, fitting out has intentionally become keeping away from the growth of single-purpose spaces – simpler, such as hallways. Ironically, due to the character of the chain-hyperlink format, a room has been sincerely forced to join each area without having to stay in a collection of communicating rooms in the fashion of Versailles. The desired room was then broken, displaced and damage, as the parts no longer resembled a room and allowed different uses of the room without interest.

One room has been turned into the door/gallery lobby – almost five meters high and lit from the sky – highlighting the client’s collection of nascent artwork. The different ones, now smaller but twice as big, have become the child’s play/exam room. A small patio separates the two. The living room, the kitchen and the dining rooms are integrated directly into an unmarried space, closed by means of massive house windows in certain aspects. The two aspects slide back to extend the fun to the adjacent covered and outdoor terraces, if desired. The boundaries have also been blurred in the master suite, with only a huge dressing room separating it from the bathroom, without a door.

On top of a fixed series of rocks coming off the hill at mid-altitude, the long, thin chain-hyperlink scheme creates an image that defies gravity. The two freely cantilevered ends, it seems like a balancing act.

Despite the effect, the concrete slab of the residence rests adequately on a podium described by means of maintenance of the partitions of the identical fabric. Thin, inclined columns were introduced where more guidance was desired. Their abnormal shape and inclination exaggerate the sense of instability. Outside, Equitone© cement fiber forums were used to cover the entire metallic shape that emerges from the slab and shapes the residence. An air chamber between these pores and this skin and the inner envelope of the residence is positioned to

assisted by its thermal comfort. Due to its color, the cladding and the urbanism give the residence a monolithic appearance, the simplest subverted through the means of the glazed facade that lies in front of the panorama. This palette of managed fabrics makes the residence a constant monochromatic counterpoint to the intense changes in color and plants that the online website undergoes throughout the seasons: from the brown and yellow desert sunglasses within the summer-time season to the maximum lush vegetables during the winter.
