10 Design Transforms Hon Thom Island into a Coastal Gem

Run by Design Partners José Cláudio Silva and Peter Barrett, the modern and welcoming vacation spot offers beautiful views of the coast and the plant-based mountain ridge of Hon Thom Island. This luxurious complex is just a 5-minute walk from sandy beach, water activities and golf facilities.

Hon Thom Island

Located in the northwestern hinterland of Hon Thom Island with uninterrupted oceanic outlook, the motel’s master plan is developed along a kilometer of coastal facade and 20 hectares of first-class coastline and boardwalk. The project will improve connectivity with the enlarged archipelago through non-public and VIP marinas, a public pier and heliport, as well as a cable car connecting the island to Phu Quoc. The upgrade will even work out a built-in motel tower in addition to luxurious resorts, seaside villas and cliffs, town houses and seaside golf facilities that offer panoramic coastal perspectives.

Located inside the Bai Trao district of Hon Thom Island, the iconic tower is designed to wake up some candles coming out of the Gulf of Thailand. The deluxe rooms are placed along the curvature of the sails, making the most of the beneficial perspectives in the direction of the horizon and the grass bottom of the mountain slopes. A facade of double-pore glass and leather accentuates the lightness of the candles, organizing a sense of movement and travel throughout the scheme. The public spaces including an observation terrace and gardens are located on the lower floors, serving as a podium for the built-in motel and connecting the complex and different reception additives collectively.

Luxury and first class residential villas are situated along the beach and are designed to blur the boundaries between nature and structure thanks to overflow swimming pools, gardens, outdoor terraces and a direct entrance to a non-public seashore.

The significant seaside business adhesion is designed in a spectacular round shape with a skylit interior atrium nestled in the coastal slopes, collectively with rustic slatted roofs, uncovered boiseries and heat colored stones residing in public spaces, retail programs and pool terraces.

The Townhouse village acts because the vacation spot is anchored at the south gate of the motel, where a variety of residential town houses and character hotel complexes are cascading on the land heading towards the coast. Shaped through the European seaside city from the bottom up, the village includes open public squares and large marinas, collectively linked through a community of linear parks and coastal promenades that end at the adjacent Fisherman’s platform. The fisherman’s pier is redesigned as an extension of the rocky coast, with its retail glass volumes attached to stone blocks supposedly growing from the sea.

“We are delighted to finish the master plan and fitting out of Hon Thom Island, so that you can use one of the jewels of the beach of Phu Quoc neighborhood in addition to the welcome and lifestyle holiday spot by the sea of world magnificence. The motel is a key milestone, as the first core company was completed through our 10 Design Singapore studio, and we are able to continue to expand our presence in Southeast Asia through professional planning and shipping offerings, facilitating it through imminent growth means from our Singapore group into the new workspace.”
